Location: Creston Construction Residency

The Construction Technician Supervisor will be responsible for the direct supervision of the construction technicians, and highway technician seniors in the Creston Construction Office.  Supervision of employees includes making personnel decisions relating to work schedules, performance evaluations, discipline, grievances, leave requests, hiring selections, promotions, and training, along with other supervisory duties in accordance with agency policies, collective bargaining agreement, work rules, and AA/EEO guidelines.
 
Additional duties include assisting the Resident Engineer in administering contracts to insure compliance with the plans and specifications, plan review, project development, office management, coordinating facility maintenance, administering the maintenance of vehicles for cost center, and other duties as assigned.
 
The Construction Technician Supervisor must be able to work with minimum supervision and be able to work and effectively communicate with the general public, property owners, contractors, suppliers, utilities, cities, counties, office staff, other offices, and federal officials.
 
Specific knowledge of highway and bridge construction inspection techniques and requirements is necessary. Knowledge and ability to operate computer is required. Good oral and written communication skills are necessary.

Travel: Infrequent overnight travel required.

License: Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license.

Shift: Variable, Monday thru Friday; 7:45 am - 4:30 pm
 

    Minimum Qualification Requirements Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field and experience equal to five years of full-time work in engineering survey, construction inspection, materials inspection or materials testing.
