Description

Responsible for assisting the Process Engineer and Plant Manager on maintaining reliable and safe manufacturing systems, while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers. The Engineering Assistant will be part of a team driven to identify, develop, and deliver innovative solutions to improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists Process Engineer in evaluating, prioritizing and advising on engineering projects by investigating costs, requirements, data, and necessary equipment
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining equipment and facility CAD drawings.
  • Responsible for small capital projects, up to $25,000.
  • Performs installation and maintenance work if needed to complete pending projects.
  • Assists in implementing short and long term departmental goals and strategies.
  • Strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources when practical.
  • Works safely at all times, follows safety rules and policies and participates in scheduled training.
  • Reports injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective action.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associates degree (AA) in engineering tech or related field from community college or university; and 3 to 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
