Job Description

A Tower Technician assists in tower maintenance or new construction, building each tower job as defined by the client's scope of work and construction drawings under the direction of the Tower Crew Leader. Work may be performed at ground level or up to 2000′ in the air. This candidate will report to a Tower Crew Leader or Superintendent.

Responsibilities:

  • Review the scope of work and construction drawings with the Crew Leader.
  • Assist in verifying that all materials for the project are taken to the job site.
  • Verify that all tools, equipment and stocked supplies on your truck & trailer are available and in working order.
  • Inspect each truck & piece of equipment in your charge before use.
  • Inspect all PFAS (personal fall arrest systems) prior to climbing.
  • Attend a daily tailgate meeting to address daily tasks and safety issues. Report any safety concerns to the Crew Leader.
  • Take direction from the Crew Leader to perform the job following the scope of work / construction drawings or customer's instructions.
  • Perform all work in a safe & workman-like manner. Adhere to our 100% tie-off rule when working above 6 feet or near a leading edge.
  • Report any deviations from the scope of work/construction drawings to the Crew Leader.
  • Pick up trash on site daily.
  • Take pictures of final work and provide all turnover documentation to Murphy Tower Project Manager.
  • Clean out truck(s) & trailer(s) after each job and put materials and equipment away.
  • Begin preparations for next job

 

Job Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Demonstrated experience in construction trades a plus, but no experience necessary.
Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen, physical capacity profile and background check

Not afraid of heights.
Someone who works well in a team environment.
Safety is important to you.
Comfortable with up to 50% travel.
Terrific physical condition and able to move in a variety of different positions - crouching, kneeling, reaching, bending/lifting.
On time, every time. We start at 6 AM on Monday and 7 AM Tuesday thru Friday. Your crew relies on you, be there for them when they are there for you.
Often works an average of 10 hours a day (lots of potential for overtime).
